Seed is for a savings group that meets to save and lend together. Install it once from your browser. It then sits on your home screen like any other app, opens without signal, and updates itself whenever the phone finds a connection.
Seed is free, now and later. It is in early access, built with the first groups.
Open Seed in your browser first (the green button above). Then follow the line for your device.
Tap the three dots at the top right, then Install app (or Add to Home screen). Confirm. The Seed icon appears with your other apps.
It must be Safari, not another browser. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow), scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Click the small install icon at the right of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install Seed (Chrome: Cast, save and share).
Once installed, Seed opens from your home screen with no network, and shows what was last loaded on that phone.
When the phone finds a connection, Seed fetches the latest version in the background. You do not reinstall anything.
Recording new entries while completely offline is on our list but not built yet. If a meeting has no signal, note it on paper and enter it when signal returns. The starter workbook is there if you want a paper-style record in the meantime.
An installed app is tied to the web address it was installed from. Install from the address we give your group, so that later updates keep working.
Installing never takes anything from your phone. Seed keeps your group's book on a secure server. Please do not send members' I.D. numbers by chat or email.
Seed is for groups. A registered or soon-to-be-registered SACCO has the full suite: ledger, loans, committees, reports for the Registrar.
